Angela Y. Jones is a dedicated community service professional with more than three decades of experience in healthcare access, education, youth development, and organizational leadership. Her career reflects a strong commitment to serving families, strengthening communities, and developing effective programs that promote equity, access, and personal growth.
Currently, Ms. Jones serves as the House Administrator at Disciples Divinity House and Institute at Vanderbilt. She creates a unique role providing administrative and property oversight for a residential community of theological graduate students. Ms. Jones coordinates and oversees the day-to-day operations of DDH and other duties assigned by the Dean.
Previously, Ms. Jones served as a Healthcare Access Specialist at Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center in Nashville, Tennessee. In this role she led outreach and education initiatives, conducted eligibility screenings, and provided enrollment assistance for Tenncare, CoverKids, and Health Insurance Marketplace plans. She was a Certified Application Counselor and is recognized for her professionalism, attention to confidentiality, and ability to guide individuals and families through complex healthcare systems while meeting outreach and enrollment goals.
Ms. Jones spent nearly 28 years with the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, where she held multiple leadership roles including, Area Coordinator, Site Director, Senior Program Director, Senior Administrative Director, People Services Specialist and Customer Service roles. Throughout her tenure, she supervised and trained large teams, implemented curriculum and quality programming, ensured compliance with state licensing standards, managed budgets and payroll, and cultivated strong partnerships with schools, families, and community stakeholders. Her leadership contributed to program excellence, staff development, and successful grant and fundraising initiatives.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Tennessee State University, equipping her with a strong foundation in child development, education, and program leadership.
Angela Y. Jones is widely respected for her strengths in strategic planning, communication, staff development, coaching and mentoring, and team building. Her career reflects a lifelong dedication to service, integrity, and creating environments where individuals and communities can thrive.
Angela loves spending time with her family. She is the proud mother of her daughter, Ke’Ohisa, and a devoted grandmother to two grandchildren, Kyleigh (13) and Gary (4).
In addition to her professional and family life, Angela is an entrepreneur. Through her side business, Angela’s Creations, she specializes in balloon designs and the decoration of Christmas trees and special events.
